Goals for the Park 2018 – Community Base

Since 2016, The Friends of Tividale Park have debated the need and costs of a meeting room in the park. We feel this would be a real asset fo the park and the community.

  • Conversion of part of the disused football changing rooms has been quoted in the region of £10,500 (Nov 2016). Taking on the lease would potentially mean taking away an existing asset for the park.
  • The on going maintenance such as weekly water flushing regiments (Legionella prevention), disabled accesses and other issues have led the F.O.T.P. committee to discount the idea of re-purposing and taking on the lease of the facility.

Presentation to Highways agency and Sandwell Council

On 28/07/17, Friends of Tividale Park representatives met with Sandwell MBC Parks and Open Spaces Manager.

It was agreed the area would be cleared (has become over grown including self seeded trees).

Council to be kept informed about progress of a porta cabin should be be successful in getting a donation of a porta cabin from the Highways Agency.

Update April 2017

The area identified has now been cleared and at the March 2017 Friends of Tividale Park meeting, it was reported that the council may have a suitable porta cabin.
